Emile Heskey predictions – English Premier League 2017/18

English Premier League Week 33

Everton vs Liverpool

Competition : Premier League
Date : 7 April 2018
Game week : 33
Kick-off : 7:30pm (GMT +8)
Venue : Goodison Park (Liverpool)

Derby games are always great for football fans, but in the case of Everton, it hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows – they haven’t been able to overcome their rivals in the last five meetings. Both teams want to win this fixture for bragging rights, but statistically, Liverpool need this win even more because they are vying for a second-placed finish in the Premier League amidst pressure from Manchester United and Tottenham – and even dark horses Chelsea.

Admittedly, the Reds will be dragging their boots following their Champions League quarter-final tie with Man City and depending on how they perform, key players could be rested for this fixture. Here’s where Everton’s World Cup hopefuls like Walcott, Barkley, Hilton and the like will look strike Liverpool in the jugular to prove their worth for the global stage. And with Rooney looming, the Toffees have what it takes to come away with points. But all of this will solely depend on whether or not Firmino, Mane and Salah show up.

Prediction: Everton 0-2 Liverpool

Manchester City vs Manchester United

Competition : Premier League
Date : 8 April 2018
Game week : 33
Kick-off : 12:30am (GMT +8)
Venue : Etihad Stadium (Manchester)

Guardiola’s Blues will be looking to win the Premier League with an ultimate low blow to their rivals, but Mourinho’s Red Devils must score three points to not only cement their second-place finish, but also a Champions League spot.

So who will come out on top? Manchester City’s key to victory will be the form of their forwards – Sane, Aguero (if he’s fit to play) and De Bruyne, to pull the strings in the middle of the park. On the flipside, Manchester United need to win the midfield battle with the likes of Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic. City will have to find a away to get the goals past on-form de Gea, but if they fail and United get an early goal, they’ll have a big ‘bus’ to penetrate, because we know how tactical Mourinho can be.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Manchester United
